Ready to take your French skills from “Oh là là!” to “C’est magnifique!”? Join our French Improvers course, designed for those who already have a basic grasp of the language and are eager to level up their skills! This course will add some flair to dark winter evenings and help you refine your speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities in a structured but fun learning environment.

Course outline

• Speak with confidence: Engage in more complex conversations and express your opinions like a true Francophone.
• Expand your vocabulary: Learn new words and phrases that will make your conversations sparkle.
• Master grammar: Tackle essential grammar points that will elevate your sentence structure and clarity.
• Listen and comprehend: Understand spoken French in various contexts, from casual chats to media clips.
• Explore culture: Dive deeper into French culture, customs, and current events to enrich your language experience.

About your tutor: Fiona Doyle

Fiona is a graduate from European Studies specialising in French and German language, literature, film, and culture. She also has a postgraduate Diploma in Pure Linguistics. Teaching all her life in English as a foreign language; at home and abroad, and teaching French and German part time, together with translation work also, Fiona uses the communicative approach for evening classes which has an emphasis on speaking and listening as well as reading and writing. Additional costs: Fiona will be using materials including coursebooks and cds in class and students can purchase her recommended coursebook for approximately €20 euro.
